For local businesses

Local business marketing that fills the calendar and the tables

Medspas, restaurants, salons, studios, gyms and boutiques. Customers pick you from Google Maps, Instagram and, more and more, an AI that answers "best facial near me" or "best brunch near me" with three names. We make sure yours is one of them, then bring those customers back.

Built for owner-operators and small groups, not fifty-location chains.

The short version

How do local businesses get recommended by AI search?

Answer

AI tools answer "where should I go" questions from your Google Business Profile, your website, your reviews and local guides. Keep hours, menus and treatment lists current and readable as text, earn reviews that name the dish or treatment, and keep your details identical everywhere. That same work wins Google Maps.

Who this page is for

Booked or walked in, not called out

This page is for businesses customers come to: appointment and walk-in places like medspas and aesthetics clinics, restaurants and cafes, salons, studios, gyms and boutiques. If your business goes to the customer (plumbers, electricians, contractors, landscapers and other trades), see our local services page instead.

Run a medspa or a restaurant? Those have their own pages: medspa marketing and restaurant marketing.

Marketing in the cracks

You're running the business. Who's marketing it?

Most local businesses run marketing in the gaps of a long day, in a market where it feels like a new competitor opens every month. The symptoms look the same everywhere.

  • Reviews pile up on Google and Yelp without replies
  • Instagram goes quiet for weeks during the busy season, and looks like everyone else's when it's active
  • The website still shows last season's menu, services or holiday hours
  • New customers come in once and never come back

"Where should we go tonight?" is now a question people ask a chatbot.

What AI search reads

What do AI tools look at before recommending a local business?

Local questions are specific: "quiet date night spot with vegan options," "medspa that does lip filler near downtown," "kid-friendly patio near the stadium." The businesses that get named are the ones whose details are easy to read and easy to confirm.

  • Menus and treatment lists as real text

A PDF menu or a photo of a price board can't answer "do they have gluten-free pasta" or "how many sessions does it take." A page for each treatment or a text menu with dietary notes can.

  • Reviews that name the specifics

"My lip filler looks natural" or "the short rib was perfect" tells a search engine far more than "great place." We build review requests that invite details.

  • Attributes and listings filled in everywhere

Same name, address, hours and services across Google, Yelp, booking and reservation platforms and directories, with every attribute box filled in, so you're recognized as one trusted business.

  • Visible people and credentials

Who performs injections and lasers, who runs the kitchen, who cuts the hair. Health and beauty topics get extra scrutiny, and named, qualified providers earn trust.

  • Hours that are never wrong

Nothing kills trust like showing up to a closed door. Holiday and seasonal hours updated everywhere, before the holiday.

  • Local press and guides

"Best tacos in town" lists, neighborhood blogs and local writers are exactly the sources AI answers pull from. Being on them is worth pursuing.

What we'd use

The Gadsly services that fill chairs, tables and class slots

Acquisition gets a customer in the door once. Repeat visits are where local businesses make their money. We cover both.

  1. Get found

    Local SEO

Win the map pack and "near me" searches, and keep the profile AI tools read complete and current.

  2. Brand

    Social media management

Posts that look like your food, your space and your results, not a template pack, on a schedule that doesn't depend on a slow day.

  3. Photos

    Content creation

Photo and video shoots coordinated once and used across web, social and ads.

  4. Bookings

    Social ads

Meta and Instagram campaigns for booked consults, slow nights, events and openings, run within each platform's rules.

  5. Book direct

    Website development

Fast pages with real menus and treatment details, current hours and direct booking that works on a phone.

  6. Return

    Marketing automation

Instant inquiry replies, reminders and rebooking campaigns so customers come back on schedule.

The customer path

We build for the way local customers actually choose

Four moments decide whether someone becomes a regular. Most local businesses only market to the first one.

  1. Discover

A "near me" search, an AI answer or a friend's Instagram post puts you on the list.

  2. Compare

They read reviews, check photos and look for a menu or treatment page that answers their questions.

  3. Book or visit

Online booking and reservations that work on a phone, and an instant reply to every inquiry, even after hours.

  4. Return

Timed reminders, emails to regulars and win-back campaigns bring people back, without coupon spam.

Where bookings come from

Third-party platforms or direct bookings?

Third-party apps

Useful for discovery

  • New customers find you there
  • Fees and commissions on every booking or order
  • The platform owns the customer relationship
Direct

Better for margin

  • Book through your own site and Google profile
  • You keep the customer's email for the next visit
  • Regulars come back without paying a platform each time

Rules and privacy

How do you handle ad restrictions and client privacy?

Carefully, and in plain sight. This matters most for medspas and other health-adjacent businesses.

Ad platforms. Meta and Google restrict before-and-after imagery, health-related targeting, and certain treatment claims and medical terms. We know where those lines are and build campaigns that work inside them instead of getting your ad account flagged.

Privacy. For medspas and similar practices, we build your marketing with HIPAA considerations in mind. That means being deliberate about tracking on booking and intake pages, keeping client health details out of ad platforms and marketing tools, and using testimonials and photos only with written consent.

What we don't claim. We're not a HIPAA-certified vendor (there is no official HIPAA certification), and we're not your lawyer. Whether HIPAA applies to your business, and how, is a question for your compliance advisor. We'll work with them, not around them.

Local business marketing questions

What's the difference between this and your local services page?

Answer

Where the work happens. This page covers businesses customers visit or book into, like medspas, restaurants, salons, studios, gyms and boutiques. Local services covers trades that travel to the customer, like plumbers, electricians and contractors, where calls and quotes matter more than bookings.

Do you understand ad platform rules for medspas and aesthetics?

Answer

Yes. Meta and Google restrict before-and-after content, health targeting, claims and medical terminology. We plan creative and targeting around them from the start, so campaigns run instead of getting rejected.

Is your medspa marketing HIPAA compliant?

Answer

We build marketing with HIPAA considerations in mind: careful tracking on booking pages, no client health details in ad tools, and consent for testimonials and photos. We don't guarantee compliance or give legal advice. Your compliance advisor has the final word, and we'll work with them.

Why isn't my business showing up when people ask ChatGPT for recommendations?

Answer

Usually because the details it relies on are thin or inconsistent: a PDF menu, vague treatment pages, missing attributes, old hours, few descriptive reviews, no local press. Fixing those helps Google Maps too. No one can guarantee an AI mention, but you can make yourself easy to recommend.

I'm a single location with a small budget. Can you still help?

Answer

Yes. Most of the local businesses we work with are single locations or small groups. We size the program to your budget and start with what costs little and matters most, usually your Google profile, reviews and rebooking.
